In a press statement, the Executive Chairman of Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation, Mohammed Alawi Omzarbah, has clarified that the tug boats maintenance would end within days. The technical staff are currently conducting marine trials for the tug "Meon".
Maintenance work is also underway for the tug "Hatib" which will be entering the service in the coming days.
Preparations are also taking place for the travelling of a technical team to Djibouti to oversee the second phase of maintenance for the tug " Wadi Hassan", in partnership with the private sector who gave financial credit to return the tug as soon as the possible.
The Port is also expecting the arrival of the new tug which is provided by the Turkish Government as a support for the Port of Aden, which has been named “Gaffar Mohamed Saad”, in recognition and appreciation for the former Governor of Aden and his efforts to the governorate during his leadership.
The Chairman noted, that the coming days will witness the final tests for the receipt of the new 70 tons tug by a technical team from the Corporation.
